The Cape Cod Five Savings Bank has announced plans to open a new office in Edgartown, its second bank branch on the Island. According to a press release from the company, the new branch will open at Post Office Square in the early summer of this year.

Regional president Richard Leonard told the Gazette that the new branch will be located in the building directly across from the main Edgartown Post Office. The building is currently under renovation, he said.

The new branch will allow the company to “more broadly serve our customers in the community, to provide more access in an area that’s convenient for folks as part of the daily routine,” he said.

The office will offer all Cape Cod Five banking services, including retail and business banking, residential lending, and wealth management.

The company anticipates employing four to six people to work at the new location according to the press release.

In 2016 Cape Cod Five opened its first full-service bank branch on the Vineyard, on State Road in Vineyard Haven.
