Joining Holly in our cat room is Thomas the teenager. He is a must see with his beautiful tabby and white markings and his large personality. Ms. Nesta also takes up residence. She is a terrific tuxedo who would love to make it into your home. And newest to our family is Colly, a neutered male Russian Blue who’s looking for you.

Mel is still hopping and hoping to find his forever home. He’s a large white neutered male rabbit who is only a year old. His brindle ears are very cute with one straight-up and the other flopping down. Mel is very friendly and enjoys attention, he’ll sit on your lap and allow you to pet or brush him for as long as you like. He also talks with cute little grunts. Stop in and meet him and see if he’ll eat his carrot or lettuce for you. Who knows, love may blossom with this sweet rabbit, he’s a keeper.

Here are some upcoming dates to remember: The Black Dog on Main street in Edgartown is hosting an adoption day from noon to 4 p.m. Here is your chance to come and hold Mel, our lop-eared rabbit. There is a nail clinic from 10 a.m. until noon on April. Suggested donation is $15. There will also be a rabies clinic on April 7. Hours at the shelter will be from in 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. and in West Tisbury from 10 a.m. until noon. Suggested donation is $25.

The Animal Rescue League of Boston’s spay/neuter wagon will be visiting the shelter on Wednesday, April 11, but has reached capacity for this visit. They will be here again in May so contact your local animal control officer for more information if you have a pet you would like to have spayed or neutered.

And lastly, if anyone needs any crates or dog food, please stop in to pick some up. We have an abundance of both and are happy to share.
