For years, Olivia Ames Hoblitzelle was a teacher of mind/body medicine and mindfulness meditation, as well as a long time practitioner of Buddhism. This practice served her well when journeying with her husband through his six years of Alzheimer’s disease. She chronicled that experience in her book Ten Thousand Joy & Ten Thousand Sorrows: a Couple’s Journey Through Alzheimer’s.

Now she has turned her mind on the subject of aging as a whole. Her new book is called Aging with Wisdom: Reflections, Stories & Teachings.

Ms. Hoblitzelle will give a talk about her book on Sunday, June 3, at 4 p.m. at Carol Nelson yoga studios at 35 Christmas Hill Lane in Vineyard Haven. Currently living in Cambridge, Ms. Hoblitzelle is a longtime visitor of the Island, going back to the 1950s. Her sister Joanie Ames lives in West Tisbury.

Space for the talk is limited; to reserve a seat call 617-277-0999 or emailing cnelsonyoga@earthlink.net.
