The Martha’s Vineyard Hospital announced this week that it will hire three new primary care doctors, including a pediatrician and two family practitioners.

Dr. Steven Feder is a board-certified pediatrician who has been practicing at Lincoln Medical Partners in Damariscotta, Me., since 1998. He received his degree from the University of New England and completed a residency in pediatrics at Boston City Hospital/Boston Medical Center in 1998. He is also an associate professor of clinical pediatrics at the Tufts University School of Medicine. Dr. Feder has practiced previously on a per diem basis at the Vineyard hospital. He plans to move to the Island in late September with his wife and family.

Dr. Amar Luzic will join the staff as a full-time family practitioner in late August. He received his training at the University of Sarajevo-Medical in Bosnia and is due to complete his residency at the St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center of the Mohawk Valley Health System in Utica, N.Y., in July. He served as a resident at the Vineyard hospital under the supervision of Dr. Henry Nieder in 2015.

Dr. Scott Simmons will begin full time work as a family practitioner in late September. He completed medical training at Rush Medical College in Chicago, did his internship and residency at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Fla., and completed a fellowship in primary care sports medicine at Boston University. He is currently in practice at the Boston Medical Center and is an assistant professor where he oversees residents, medical students and fellows.
