Vineyard tennis stars Kat Roberts and Lizzie Williamson, who helped lead the team to its fourth consecutive state championship title, have been named to the Boston Globe’s 2018 girls tennis all scholastic team.
Their coach, Nina Bramhall, has been named division two girls tennis coach of the year.
Roberts and Williamson, both seniors, were also individual state champions as a doubles team. They led the Vineyard to a 20-0 record for the season and yet another state championship, this year in the division two bracket
Roberts is also a four-time Eastern Athletic Conference all-star. Williamson did not lose a match in her high school career.
Bramhall was named coach of the year for the third time in the last four years, and for the first time in division two. The team has had an 85-1 record and won a state championship every year since she came on as coach in 2015.
Roberts, Williamson, and juniors Kelly Klaren and Victoria Scott were named Eastern Athletic Conference all-stars this year.
Athletes from other Vineyard teams also received honors from the Globe. Junior Mackenzie Condon received All Scholastic honors for girls track and field. Condon has consistently been ranked among the top hurdlers in the state, and this year she broke four MVRHS track records and competed at both state and national track meets.
Condon and her teammates Catherine Cherry, Amber Cuthbert, and Yayla DeChiara were named girls track and field all stars.
Several other high school athletes were also named Eastern Athletic Conference all stars. They were:
