Autumn in Aquinnah — gorgeous sunsets, a few days of rain, temperatures in the 40s at night and 70s during the day. The foliage will be more evident in a matter of weeks.
The first Wednesday in October is National Coffee with a Cop Day, a program between police officers and their community to learn more about each other and to build trust and to establish relationships — one cup at a time. The Aquinnah police invite you to the town hall on Wednesday, Oct. 3 at 5 p.m. to share a cup with them.
The Martha’s Vineyard Neighborhood Convention begins the schedule for their 124th season with the first presentation on Oct. 2 at 11 a.m. regarding the New Island Food Pantry. Margaret Hanneman, Director will discuss the pantry at the First Baptist Church parish house at 66 William Street in Tisbury. Please bring your lunch. Coffee, tea, and dessert will be served.
Wednesday, Oct. 3 from 5 to 10 p.m., the West Tisbury School will have Dine to Donate at the Loft and Pizza di Napoli, as a fundraiser for the Parent Teachers Organization.
Donna Crnkovic departed over the week to visit Manhattan, Chicago and friends in Iowa before returning to her home in Zagreb, Croatia. Donna spent the summer working at Cliffhangers among other jobs.
Welcome to Kamilah Constance Nguyen who was born on Sept. 24 at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, the daughter of Jenna Gosson and Khuong Nguyen, granddaughter of Lisa Pachico and Warren Gosson, and great-granddaughter of Forrest Alley.
Bob and Judy Lana Peterson were at their summer home over the weekend, heading back to Vermont on Monday morning.
