On New Year’s Eve, next Monday night, Chappy ferry captain Becca LaMarche is willing to stick around after midnight in case you want to stay at a party to welcome in the new year. The ferry will run between 12:30 and 1:00 a.m. for an extra fee of $20 per person. Payment in advance is required and is nonrefundable. Sign up with the ferry captain on your way to the party either off or on Chappy.

The Harbor View Hotel annually puts on a fireworks display for New Year’s Eve. They are closed for renovations this year so none have been scheduled. We’ll have to be satisfied with the usual scattering of renegade bursts around town.
