The Federated Church in Edgartown is honoring Black History Month following its Feb. 24 service with guest speaker, Dr. Walter Collier, D.P.A. Dr. Collier is a longtime Island resident whose recent book Why Racism Persists: An Uncomfortable Truth, will be the basis of his presentation.

Services begin at 10 a.m., followed by Dr. Collier’s talk. At 12:30 p.m. there will be the regularly scheduled free community lasagna luncheon.

The Federated Church is located at 45 South Summer Street, Edgartown.
