Alex’s Place in collaboration with the Martha’s Vineyard Film Society’s Spectrum Film Festival is holding a writing and art contest for all Island teenagers. The contest is called Vineyard Teen Perspectives, and applicants are asked to address the prompt: “Identify the most important step that a community can take to show that it is inclusive. Explain your choice.”

The essays will be judged by Island librarians and six first-place winners will be announced at the Alex’s Place on Friday, April 26.

Entry forms are available at Alex’s Place, the Martha’s Vineyard Film Center, Educomp, The Bunch of Grapes and all local libraries.

The third annual Spectrum Film Festival takes place from April 25 to 28.
