Aquinnah is blossoming in the brightest yellows with forsythia and daffodils all around, and a pretty pink magnolia tree mixed in with the green skunk cabbage growing along the roadway. The pinkletinks continue with a chorus each night.

The first annual Ice Savours hockey game is April 27 at 1 p.m. at Ice Arena. Cheer for the MV Mariners hockey players as they play against Boston Bruins alumni.

May Day festivities at the Chilmark School will be on Wednesday May 1 at 9 a.m. The fourth and fifth grade students will perform the traditional May Pole dance followed by games, and the delivering of May baskets.

Forrest Alley enjoyed a visit from his son Al over the holiday weekend. Al always shares his time with his father in Aquinnah and his mother Emily Packish Frank at her home in Tisbury.

Tom and Christine Murphy enjoyed a pre-Easter visit from their grandsons Noah and Sammy, accompanied by their parents Tim and Kate Kausch. For Easter, the Kausch family headed to Maine to visit with Tim’s family. Tom and Christine enjoyed the company of their son Tim Murphy, home the holiday weekend from his duties at the Fessenden School.

Jenna Petersiel has been in town recently getting the summer home ready for her mother Louise Petersiel who will be arriving soon for the season.

Anne Vanderhoop Madison enjoyed Easter with an open house for four generations of family and many friends.

Sincerest condolences to the family and friends of Joyce Humphrey Duarte who passed away in Maine on April 13. The Humphrey family were long time residents of Lobsterville. Graveside services will be held in West Tisbury on Sunday.

Graveside services will be held for Angela Waldron on April 26 at 1:30 p.m. at the West Tisbury Cemetery.

Happy birthday wishes this week to Michael Goldsmith as he celebrates today. Jean Lince, Shirley Mayhew and Rodney Bunker share the day on April 27. Samuel Murphy Kausch will be four years old on April 28, sharing the day with Ron Tolin and Michelle Duarte. Albert E. Rose celebrates on April 29 as he shares the day with Kylee Ann Darcy, Judd Fuller, and my youngest great grandchild who will be five years old, Alexander Galbraith. Richard Rose will party on April 30. Nick Bologna will party on May 1. Jim Wallen celebrates on May 2, sharing the day with Maysel Vanderhoop White who will be nine years old. Betsy Feil Vanlandingham will celebrate on May 3 as will Av Morrow, Duncan Caldwell, Bill Smith, Riley Dreaney and Jack Runyan who will be eight years old. Cinco de Mayo will be a day of celebration for Josh Brooks and for Karen Duffy.
