With the arrival of spring, love seems to be blossoming everywhere. Brothers Jakey and Benny found a home where they can stay together, and lovely Cedar had someone fall head over heels for her as well. Finn found his new home as well, he and his new best friend are bonded. Two guinea pigs found homes as well, but we still have four more for anyone interested.

Hey Rottweiler people, a gem of a rottie is waiting for someone to come and adopt. Her name is Lola and she’s five years old. This girl is super sweet, lived in a home with children and gets along with dogs and cats. She’s a gentle giant.

The shelter also has a small to medium-sized dog, a basset hound/Labrador mix, that needs a home. She’s housebroken and is well mannered.

A new cat has joined us: Rascal, a seven-year- old tabby and white male. He arrived after a death in the family and his still adjusting. He needs to be an only cat, and since he didn’t live with dogs we believe he would prefer a dog-free home.

Holly is lonely and needs a permanent home. Even though she gets attention from the shelter staff and volunteers she still spends too much time alone. She enjoys getting treats and will even eat them from your hand.

The Earl of Cecil is six, solid black with luminous green eyes and a sweet disposition. We believe he suffered a stroke or a seizure and now has limited vision. However, he has no trouble getting around and is a real snuggle puss.

The shelter will be offering a free Canine Kindergarten: Puppy Socialization Class with Jeremy Jones beginning Saturday, May 11 and running through June 1 at 10:30 a.m. Puppies must be on leash, have had their first vaccinations and proof of worming must be provided. Space is limited to five puppies and only a few spots are left — so call soon if you’d like to attend. The number is 508-627-8662.

Adult volunteers are needed to answer the phone and meet and greet people on Thursday, Friday and Saturday afternoons.

And if anyone needs any crates or dog food, please stop in to pick some up.

We are taking jewelry donations for our Summer Garden Party. Visit our website to bid on silent auctions items for the party. The top item is a trip for two to the Galapagos Islands.
