We’ve had a first at the shelter: our first ever Guinea pig birth occurred last Saturday! And since Gordon was here to assist with the delivery if necessary, we’ve decided to name him Gordon in honor. Gordon is white with gray markings and a rosette like his Mom. Stop in to meet this cutie before he gets too much bigger. His mom is also available, as well as three other males: one gray and white and the other two black and white. Come fall in love and give a piggie a home.

Milo has turned out to be an awesome dog. He’s a red and white Australian shepherd mix that’s only a year old. This boy is very smart, connects with people and gets along with other dogs and cats. He would do best with an active family that can keep him busy, give him a job to expend some of his energy, and continue his training. Could that family be yours?

If you’d prefer an older dog, Mrs. Cooper is looking for someone with whom to spend her senior years. She’s a small to medium-size basset hound/Labrador retriever mix, about 13 years old. She’s housebroken, well-mannered and good with cats. Is someone out there to shower her with the lover she deserves? Mrs. Cooper does have an adoption pending.

We also have a lovely cat looking for a home. Mystique is a dilute tortoise shell, two years old and very sweet. She’s a gentle girl and is shy but friendly. She’s wishing that someone will come in and snap her up soon. She’d be an asset to any family.

Holly is still here. It’s been well over a year and she’s still looking for a home. Holly is a six-year old tabby who needs a good deal of personal space and would do best as an only cat in a quiet household. She’s come a long way during her time here and will even eat treats from your hand. She loves to play as well. Is there an angel out there to give this girl the home she desperately needs?

We have a special needs cat that would be a great addition to any home. The Earl of Cecil is only six, solid black with luminous green eyes and the sweetest disposition ever. We believe he suffered a stroke or a seizure and now has very limited vision, buthe has no trouble getting around and is a real snuggle puss. Come meet him and fall in love — most everyone does.

Flea and tick season is here so please make sure to keep up with protection for your pets and yourself. If anyone is in need of dog food, we have plenty and are happy to share. Just stop in during regular shelter hours. If anyone needs a crate please stop in to pick one up. We have an abundance and are happy to share.

We are always taking jewelry donations for our Summer Garden Party. Also visit our website to bid on silent auctions items for the Garden Party. The top item is a trip for two to the Galapagos Islands!

We still need adult volunteers to answer the phone and meet and greet people on Thursday, Friday and Saturday afternoons. Can you help? If interested give us a call or stop by for more information.
