Hilary Dreyer has been promoted to executive director of the Martha’s Vineyard Film Festival. Ms. Dreyer was born on the Vineyard and has recently served as managing director of the festival. She takes over from founder and previous executive director Thomas Bena, who will now serve as creative director overseeing the purchase of land and building of the festival’s new home.

Brian Ditchfield continues as programming director and director of children’s programs.

The festival also announced the launch of a discussion series this summer conceived and moderated by Jake Davis and Diana Barrett. The discussions will take place on Thursday mornings from 10 a.m. to noon at the Beach Plum Inn, beginning July 11 and running through August 22. Registration is required.
