Sassafras Earth Education will host a pilot program for seven consecutive Mondays this summer for teens ages 14 and older. The program is supported by a Vision Fellowship scholarship and will be run by David Vanderhoop, Aquinnah Wampanoag Tribal member. The new program will integrate three areas: nature connection, historic trauma and the history of native people and people of color, and healthy lifestyle choices.

Full scholarships are available to Wampanoag/Native youth, youth of color and youth who cannot afford the camp.

The program meets Mondays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., beginning July 1 and running to August 12, with an optional overnight experience on August 12.

Sassafras Earth Education is located at 5 Church street, Aquinnah. For more information, visit sassafrasmvy.org or call 508-645-2008.
