The MV Concert series continues this week with Black Violin performing at the Tabernacle in Oak Bluffs on Sunday, June 30 beginning at 8 p.m. Black Violin consists of classically trained string players Wil B. (viola) and Kev Marcus (violin). Joining them onstage are DJ SPS and drummer Nat Stokes.

Then on Tuesday, July 2 Jonathan Richman takes the state at Union Chapel in Oak Bluffs. The show begins at 7:30 p.m. and includes Tommy Larkins on drums.

Mr. Richman got his start in the early 1970s with his band The Modern Lovers. Mr. Larkins played in Naked Prey, Giant Sand and other popular bands in Tucson, Ariz. Closer to home on the Vineyard, the duo provided the musical interludes on the film Something About Mary, written and directed by former seasonal Vineyarders, Peter and Bobby Farrelly.
