We have kittens! Four eight-week-old kittens are ready for adoption: two solid black, one tuxedo and a tabby. All four are sweet, adorable, playful kittens.

Who’s looking for a small dog? We have a really nice, five-year-old, male, Lhasa Apso named Frankie. He’s white with tan markings, housebroken, and more than anything else just wants to be with you. This is a super pup who deserves a really good home.

Tabby cat lovers, we currently have a male and two females. Mr. Softee is an awesome male, a young stray found at the Lambert’s Cove Inn. He’s very friendly, purrs like crazy and is double pawed.

Tootsie is a friendly, six-year-old, indoor cat who is very sweet and affectionate. She has white paws and underpinnings and pretty green eyes.

Our last tabby girl is six-year old Holly. She’s been here well over a year and really needs to find her permanent home.

Orange male cat lover? Come get Mr. Adventure. He’s a smaller boy with that awesome orange male personality, still young at heart at thirteen. He’s been declawed so he must be an indoor cat. This guy adores everyone.

We have a special needs cat that would be a great addition to any home. The Earl of Cecil is only six. He’s solid black with luminous green eyes and the sweetest disposition ever. We believe he suffered a stroke or a seizure and now has very limited vision, but he has no trouble getting around and is a real snuggle puss.

For the bunny lovers out there we have two juvenile female Dutch dwarf bunnies looking for homes. One is tawny with some black on her face, and the other is black with white accents. These bunnies were hand raised and very comfortable with people. They love being held and cuddled.

Who wants a Guinea pig(s)? We have two young boys in need of homes. One is black and white and the other gray and white, each with a rosette on top of their heads. We also have an adult female, gray and white with a rosette. These piggies have been hand raised and enjoying being held and played with.

F.y.i., the music festival Beach Road Weekend that’s taking place August 9 to 11 has announced a partnership with the Animal Shelter of Martha’s Vineyard. The Shelter will have a presence at the concert on Saturday from 1 to 3 p.m. Stop by and visit us while you’re there.

Flea and tick season is here, so please make sure to keep up with protection for your pets and yourself. Also keep in mind how quickly a car temperature can soar on a hot day, so it may not be wise to take your best friend along. And be aware of the pavement temperature as you’re taking your dog for a walk. Hot pavement can burn delicate pads.

If anyone is in need of dog food or pet crates, please stop by. We have plenty and are happy to share.

We are always taking jewelry donations for next year’s Garden Party.

Finally, we still need adult volunteers to answer the phone and meet and greet people on Thursday, Friday and Saturday afternoons. If you can help, give us a call or stop by for more information.
