We still have two black kittens ready for adoption. They are nine-week-old males, both sweet and playful.

The Lhasa Apso, Frankie, has an adoption pending.

We still have a number of tabby cats in need of homes: a male and three females. Mr. Softee is an awesome male, a young stray found at the Lambert’s Cove Inn, where he was visiting the dining room. He’s very friendly, purrs like crazy and is double pawed.

Tootsie is a friendly six-year-old indoor cat who is very sweet and affectionate. She has white paws and underpinnings and pretty green eyes.

Carly is seven and would do best as an only cat since she likes to eat ALL the food. She’s on the shy side but is very sweet.

The last tabby girl is six-year-old Holly. She’s been here well over a year and really needs to find her permanent home. Could that be yours?

Lovers of orange male cats, come get Mr. Adventure. He’s a smaller boy with that awesome orange male personality, still young at heart at thirteen. He’s been declawed so he must be an indoor cat. This guy adores everyone and just wants someone to love him back.

And for you calico fans, Callie is a gorgeous, petite little lady with a winning personality.

For the bunny lovers out there we have two juvenile female Dutch dwarf bunnies waiting for homes. One is tawny with some black on her face, and the other is black with white paws, nose and a spot on her back. These bunnies were hand-raised and are very comfortable with people. They love being held and cuddled.

Who wants a Guinea pig(s)? We currently have two youngsters in need of homes. Both boys are black and white with rosettes on the tops of their heads — one sort of resembles a skunk. We also have an adult female, gray and white with a rosette as well. These piggies were also hand-raised and enjoying being played with and held.

We have a special needs cat that would be a great addition to any home. The Earl of Cecil is only six, solid black with luminous green eyes and the sweetest disposition ever. We believe he suffered a stroke or a seizure and now has very limited vision, but he has no trouble getting around and is a real snuggle puss.

FYI, Beach Road Weekend, scheduled for August 9 to 11, has announced a partnership with the Animal Shelter of Martha’s Vineyard. The Shelter will have a presence at the concert on Saturday from 1 to 3 p.m.

Flea and tick season is here so please make sure to keep up with protection for your pets and yourself. Also keep in mind how quickly car temperature can soar on a hot day, so it may not be wise to take your best friend along. And be aware of the pavement temperature if you plan on taking your dog for a walk. Hot pavement can burn delicate pads.

If anyone is in need of dog food or pet crates, please stop by. We have plenty and are happy to share.

We are always taking jewelry donations for next year’s Garden Party.

We still need adult volunteers to answer the phone and meet and greet people on Thursday, Friday and Saturday afternoons. If you can help, give us a call or stop by for more information.
