The Chicken Alley Arts and Collectibles Sale is Sunday, August 11. The annual event, now in its 16th year, is the culmination of a year-long culling of the thrift shop’s best merchandise. In other words, the one-day sale features the best of the best, at thrift shop prices.

Chicken Alley is located on Lagoon Pond Road, but due to the Beach Road Music festival taking place this weekend, the sale will held at the corner of Church and Main streets in Vineyard Haven, behind the Mikado restaurant and Cronig’s Real Estate at 76 Main street.

The event begins promptly at 1 p.m. but anyone thinking of showing up then doesn’t know how eagerly anticipated this event is. The line starts very early. How early? Line placeholder numbers will be handed out beginning at 7 a.m.

All proceeds from the sale benefit the programs and services of Martha’s Vineyard Community Services.
