The Permanent Endowment is seeking applications from Island nonprofit organizations and initiatives that are responsive to community needs, offer creative solutions to emerging issues and support the quality of life on the Vineyard. Annual grants are awarded to new projects as well as continuing programs in the arts, community, education, environment and health.

This fall, the endowment will launch a new class of impact grants in the $15,000 to $25,000 range. The grants will be available for larger projects and capital needs.

Meanwhile, community grants will continue in the $1,000 to $10,000 range for more moderate needs and programs.

Applicants may apply for both grants but would be awarded from one class only.

The endowment is also partnering with other organizations to facilitate grant awards for specific initiatives. They include Martha’s Vineyard Community Services, the Martha’s Vineyard Hospital and Wallace & Co. Sotheby’s International Realty.

Applications and more information can be found online at endowmv.org. The deadline is Sept. 22, with grants awarded in early November.
