The Martha’s Vineyard Land Bank reported revenues of $256,769 for the business week ending Friday, August 23, 2019. The land bank receives its funds from a two per cent fee charged on most Vineyard real estate transactions.

Much of the land bank revenue last week came from the town of Tisbury, where three transaction resulted in $162,464. Seven transactions earned $54,004 in Edgartown, while two transactions produced $25,000 in Chilmark and two transactions generated $15,300 in Oak Bluffs. No eligible transactions were recorded in Aquinnah or West Tisbury.

The land bank uses its revenues to purchase and manage land for purposes of conservation, preservation and passive recreation. To date the agency has participated in the purchase of more than 3,260 acres of Vineyard land.
