Michael McCarthy has been named to the Bridgewater State University Hall of Fame. McCarthy graduated from MVRHS in 2009 and from Bridgewater State University in 2014.

At Bridgewater he started at quarterback in 41 consecutive games. The team’s overall record during his career was 27-14, and he led team to the 2011 ECAC Northeast Bowl and 2012 NCAA Division III Tournament.

Following his college career, McCarthy was selected to play in the All-American Bowl and signed two professional contracts playing for the Geneva Seahawks in Switzerland and for the New Hampshire Brigade in the arena football league.

He currently teaches health at Plymouth North High School and is in his first season as the offensive coordinator for the Plymouth North varsity football team.

The Hall of Fame ceremony takes place on Oct. 18.
