Oak Bluffs selectmen approved the installation of six historic lampposts on the right side of Circuit avenue at their meeting Tuesday.

The globe lampposts were recently removed from Seaview avenue after complaints from residents that they were too bright and spoiling night skies over Ocean Park and Nantucket Sound. They will now be installed on the lower part of Circuit avenue.

Twelve total lampposts were removed from Seaview avenue in November. The six remaining lampposts may be used to replace other posts either near Inkwell beach or along the North Bluff the Island Queen, highway department superintendent Richard Combra said — though there has been no decision yet.

Also at the meeting, selectmen granted approval to Eversource to lay 60 feet of underground cables, conduits and manholes along Samoset avenue.

Selectmen also appointed Adam Wilson and Alfred Woollacott to the Community Preservation Committee, and appointed Gino Mazzaferro to the town energy committee.
