I can’t believe it is the end of January. We have had some cold and a little snow but I think we have also had an extended January thaw. I fear we might pay for it at the end of winter but we will cross that bridge when we come to it. Right now we can just enjoy.

Happy Birthday to all who celebrated their day this past week. Big balloons go out to Hannah Batista who celebrated Jan. 25, Olive Dockery, Alexander Wallace, Jan. 27, Julianna Hagerty, Mateus Penni, Audrey Polleys, and Leila Torres who all celebrated Jan. 29, Melissa Pereira, Jan. 30, and to Katherine Carroll, and Kathleen Vieira Da Silva who celebrate their day today, Jan. 31.

In 1993 Dave and Micki Anderson moved to the Vineyard with Micki’s children Brian, Kim and Kayla Whalen. The kids were just little and adapted to the school quickly. I worked with Micki at the bank and grew close to her and the kids. Of course they grew quickly and in 2007 after all the kids had graduated they moved to North Carolina. Brian lives in North Carolina with his three children, Gabriel (10), Layla (6) and Grayson (3). Kim is married to her husband Maikol and they have two boys, Luka (6) and Mikah (1), and they live in Myrtle Beach. Kayla joined the navy and was stationed in Japan from 2012 to 2016. She served aboard the carrier U.S.S. George Washington Carrier and served two years in the reserves. Kayla has a son, Harrison, who is 5 and they are living in Texas where Kayla is fulfilling her dream of being a policewoman. It was a long six month process and she received an offer from the Austin Police Department, one of the top police departments in the Country. Congratulations, Kayla, we wish you the best in Austin and please stay safe.

I went up to Loon Mountain with my niece Debbie this past weekend. No, I do not ski, but we just toured around the area. We went to Franconia Notch and visited several little towns. I forgot how quaint New England can be. It was a great girls’ weekend, we got to spend time together, we shopped and ate at some great places. I hope we can do it again.

Have a great week and keep the home candles burning.
