The Martha’s Vineyard Nonprofit Collaborative Board of Directors has hired Jackie Friedman as its new executive director. Ms. Friedman will take the place of Peter Temple, who retired in December.

Ms. Friedman lives in Edgartown with her husband and two young children. She is chairman of the Vineyard Montessori School board of directors and a member of the Family Center advisory committee. She first came to the Island 20 years ago.

The nonprofit collaborative provides a range of programs and events to bolster nonprofit leadership and their missions.

Ms. Friedman begins work in March.
