The Martha’s Vineyard Substance Use Disorder coalition is conducting an online survey to gather information about the community’s knowledge, attitudes and beliefs about drug, alcohol and marijuana use.

The survey is part of a broader public health campaign that aims to educate, counter misconceptions and change behavior around substance use on the Island.

Working with a non-profit organization, the Public Goods Project, the campaign is divided into four parts, beginning with a research phase.

“The objective of the coalition’s partnership with PGP is to educate and begin to mobilize the community of Martha’s Vineyard in order to decrease the use of alcohol and drugs by changing social norms on the Island,” according to an overview of the campaign.

Full-time and seasonal residents are invited participate in the survey, either in English or Portuguese .
