The Permanent Endowment for Martha’s Vineyard has launched an emergency response fund for Island nonprofits in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The fund has been established with $25,000 and “seeks to shore up the invaluable role of Island nonprofits when crisis hits,” an announcement from the endowment said Thursday.

Contributions are being accepted, and grants from the fund will be awarded by the endowment to Island nonprofits through an application process.

“The Permanent Endowment is uniquely positioned to deliver immediate financial relief to the many nonprofit organizations that step up in times of crisis or emergency,” said executive director Emily Bramhall in the announcement.
