The annual Martha’s Vineyard Marathon, originally scheduled for May, has been postponed to Sept. 26 due to the coronavirus pandemic, organizers announced this week.

Runners already registered for the event, which includes a half marathon and a two-person half marathon relay, will have their registrations transferred to the new date automatically unless they choose another option: a virtual run any day after May 16, a deferral to next year’s Vineyard event or a transfer to either the Jack and Jill Marathon and Half Marathon in Boise Sept. 13 or the San Diego Holiday Half Marathon Dec. 19.
