The Hy-Line passenger service between Hyannis and the Islands is requiring passengers to wear face coverings aboard the ferries, as well as in the ticket offices and boarding lines.

The requirement goes into effect Wednesday, according to an announcement from the boat line Monday.

“While we anticipate everyone’s understanding and cooperation, we reserve the right to deny travel to anyone who is unwilling to follow this requirement,” the announcement reads, in part.

“Hy-Line does not have a large enough supply of coverings to provide all travelers with one so you will need to provide your own, just like when you’re at the grocery store etc.”
