Built on Stilts, the long-running public dance festival held in August every year at the Union Chapel in Oak Bluffs, will be canceled this year, founder Abby Bender announced in an email Wednesday.

“Our dance community will mark this 24th year somehow, be it through online dancing or a many sites-based socially distant primal screaming flash mob. Whatever it takes, we will dance!” Ms. Bender wrote.
