The Dukes County commission voted to appoint Robert Zeltzer to the Martha’s Vineyard airport commission at a meeting Wednesday.

Mr. Zeltzer fills a vacancy left by Fred Fournier, who was appointed in March but later declined to take the seat due to a potential conflict, since he is a tenant at the airport business park.

County manager Martina Thornton said Mr. Zeltzer will be sworn in after June 1. Mr. Zeltzer is retired and lives in Chilmark. He previously served on the Martha’s Vineyard Commission and the county commission.
