After the coronavirus epidemic canceled school and all other extracurricular activities, the theatre department at the regional high school began holding Zoom classes each Friday afternoon.

“We were trying to figure out how to continue to make theatre which is contingent on gathering together during a time when we couldn’t gather together,” said Brooke Hardman Ditchfield, the theatre department director at the regional high school.

The result became Friday Afternoon Live, a series of virtual performances produced by seniors Violet Cabot, Anne Culbert, and Amelia Simmons.

After working together via Zoom for the past two months, the group decided to put on one final show to honor the seniors. That show will take place via Zoom on Friday, May 29 at 4 p.m. and is open to the entire community. It will also be a fundraiser.

“The students wanted to take it a step further and celebrate seniors who are graduating and give back to the Island by supporting the Island Food Pantry.
