The 159th Martha’s Vineyard Agricultural Society Livestock Show and Fair will be held virtually, on a date to be announced, society leaders announced Monday.

The annual fair poster winner was also announced: paper artist Robin Nagle of West Tisbury created the poster image from the apt theme for 2020: Staying Home on the Farm.

“We recognize the importance of the fair to our community to connect us with each other, support our local agriculture and economy, share talents, knowledge and skill, and in extending the year-round work of the Agricultural Society,” society executive director Kristina West wrote in an email.

Held for four days every August on the society’s fairground in West Tisbury, the fair was canceled in April due to the pandemic.

Society leaders said they are still working out the details for events that can be held virtually this year.

“We have been working hard to keep the spirit of the fair alive by creating a fun virtual experience that is engaging and holds all those things to heart,” Ms. West wrote.
