The Chappaquiddick Community Center is truly the neighborhood center of Chappy. The directors and staff of the center have come up with ways to provide many of the seasonal activities we have come to depend upon.

Even though at present, the CCC building remains closed until further notice, many outdoor activities are still offered. Tennis, pickleball and basketball courts are available. Check the CCC website for guidelines for the safe use of these facilities.

Beginning Tuesday, June 23, Tai chi will meet from 9 to 10 a.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays on the basketball court. Since the sessions will be outdoors, it will be weather permitting.

Other activities are still scheduled but, with Covid-19, adjustments have been made to ice cream socials, the music series and the photo contest for the annual CCC calendar. Unfortunately, the art show, fair, farmers market, lobster rolls, mahjong and the Fourth of July float are all off for this summer.

Check the CCC website for updates. I’ll let you know what I hear.

The CCC, in partnership with the CIA, is hosting a Tick-Borne Illness Presentation via Zoom Meeting on Saturday, June 27 from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Here is the information to join in:
