The West Tisbury Library and Healthy Aging Martha’s Vineyard are holding informational Advance Care Planning Zoom sessions monthly this summer. "Our hope is that you come away from this workshop empowered to have 'the conversation' with those who care about you, the sponsors wrote in their announcement of the series.

Elements of the workshop, according to the announcement, include:

· Thinking about what you want, and don’t want, in terms of care should you face serious illness.
· Defining what quality of life means to you.
· Speaking to your loved ones, as well as your physician.
· Documenting your wishes on the proper forms.

Participants will be provided with all of the resources needed, including advance directives, to fill out when ready.  You will also learn who needs a copy of those forms so they are available when needed. Wishes written in advance directives can and do change with life circumstances and should be reviewed regularly to reflect that.

This workshop will be offered at 5 p.m. on the last Thursday of each month: June 25, July 30 and August 27. Attend one, some, or all three sessions, which are free.

Space is limited. Please email wt_mail@clamsnet.org to register.
