The Permanent Endowment for Martha's Vineyard is accepting grant applications through Sept. 15 from Island non-profits and initiatives that are responsive to community needs, offer creative solutions to emerging issues and support the quality of life on the Vineyard, according to an announcement from the non-profit

"This annual grant cycle will draw from past practice, as well as reflect what we have learned from operating our Emergency Response Fund," executive director Emily Bramhall and endowment manager Jennifer Ray wrote. "While in past years we looked for new programs and projects that would enhance your mission, this year we expect much of our focus will be on supporting initiatives that are in response to the pandemic."

Recipients of grants from the Emergency Response Fund are welcome to apply for additional grants, they added.

The 2020 grant application, which includes a list of the criteria used for decision-making, is posted at endowmv.org.  Applications must be submitted online by midnight Sept. 15, with grants awarded in late October.
