Autumn weather has arrived, those warm days we always look forward to after a busy summer. The past week has been favorable to enjoy end-of-season activities. We did have a little bit of rain that lasted five minutes. Swimming is still being enjoyed even in the fog.

All six Kistner children and most of the grandchildren and great-grandchildren enjoyed being together on Facetime for Bill and Joan’s 67th anniversary recently.

Sincerest condolences to the family and friends of Elizabeth (Betty) Denningham Blanchard who died Sept. 25.

Sincerest condolences to the family and friends of S. David Cronig who died Sept, 24, at the age of 106, most assuredly the eldest Vineyarder.   He was the last survivor of the class of 1932 at Tisbury School, having been a classmate of valedictorian Gladys (Malonson) Widdiss and Albert (Ozzie) Fischer. After spending many years in Florida, he returned to his home town a few years ago to be near his surviving child Donald Cronig and grandchildren Rubin and Lily. He was the father of the late Jeffrey Cronig and Marsha Cronig.

Sincerest condolences to the family and friends of William Philip Reynolds who died at home in Edgartown on Sept. 27.  Phil, as he was fondly known as, was a friend for more than half a century.  It was always a pleasure to see each other on occasion. Phil worked as the Martha’s Vineyard Airport director in the 1990s and we enjoyed working together at that time with their board of governors. He will be greatly missed.
