The Permanent Endowment for Martha's Vineyard has received a $200,000 state grant aimed at providing immediate relief and support for Islanders who are experiencing economic difficulties due to Covid-19, according to an announcement from the Baker-Polito administration.

"This partnership with the state builds on the success of the Mass Covid-19 Relief Fund, a privately funded effort which partnered with community foundations across the commonwealth to deliver Covid relief to their local communities," permanent endowment executive director Emily Bramhall said in a statement.

"We re-granted MA Covid funds to the Island Food Panty, Island Grown Initiative and the Martha’s Vineyard Fishermen’s Preservation Trust to address food security needs this summer," Ms. Bramhall continued. "We will be partnering in a similar way with numerous Island organizations."
