The Dukes County Sheriff’s Office is lending a hand to the all-volunteer Red Stocking Fund, whose mission is to provide warm winter clothing and food for children in need on Martha’s Vineyard during the Christmas and holiday season.

Community members may drop off new, unwrapped toys in the Red Stocking Fund drop box outside the sheriff's office administrative building, weekdays between 8:30 a.m. at 3:30 p.m. through Dec. 30, according to an announcement. The location is 9 Flight Path, West Tisbury, adjacent to the airport.

"With the housing crisis and the detrimental impact of Covid-19 on unemployment rates, we know the need is there," Sheriff Robert Ogden said in a statement.
