A public Zoom meeting titled Mapping Storm Tide Pathways is scheduled for 9 a.m. Jan. 12, according to an announcement from Martha's Vineyard Commission climate change planner Elizabeth Durkee.

A vital climate adaptation planning tool, the Storm Tide Pathways project will map inundation pathways across the Island from sea level rise and storm surge, providing critical data for emergency response and preparedness through real-time water level forecasting on a National Weather Service website, according to the announcement.

Islanders are invited to share their local knowledge and learn more about the storm tides mapping project. The Zoom ID is 862 4554 5993 and the password is 214639.

The meeting is presented by the Center for Coastal Studies through a state Coastal Zone Management Coastal Resiliency grant awarded to the Martha’s Vineyard Commission and lead town, Oak Bluffs.
