The Lagoon Pond Association has announced a beach cleanup May 29 from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Clean-up bags will be available in Vineyard Haven at the Lagoon Pond landing, shellfish hatchery and Hine's Point, and in Oak Bluffs at the end of Lagoon Road, at the lobster hatchery and at Medeiros Cove.

Kids and adults may also win prizes in the clean-up scavenger hunt, according to the announcement.

Lagoon Pond Association president Doug Reece also told the Gazette the group is encouraging people to come to the Lagoon Pond waterfront at 8:45 p.m. Saturday with lights, "to signify solidarity in clean water and clean beaches."
