We had rain, lots of rain in one day, we had heat, now we have fog and heat. Welcome to June. While Edgartown sat in fog, the other towns had beautiful sunshine. But this is our norm so we should be used to this.

Happy Birthday to all who celebrated this past week. Big balloons go out to Neyla Abreu and Luiza De Oliveira who celebrated on June 7; Allie Branca, James Gould-Lamont, Lejaun Webb on June 8; Evelyn Ferreira Pascoal on June 9; and to Rose Levesque and Herick Preisigke who celebrated their day on June 10.

Congratulations to the class of 2021. I did not attend but word has it that it was very hot but a great day for the graduates.

We all look at the graduates and cannot believe that so and so’s child is graduating this year. And every year we feel older and older. So I have to bring up the beach gang as there were two graduates this year. One was a granddaughter, Ellie Dolby. I am just getting over her father Chris having graduated. And Zack Ward. I had just looked at some of the beach pictures and I have one of Zack sleeping in his car seat after his mother drove up and down the beach to put him to sleep. Time sure flies by.

Congratulations to Mary Morano, who is another beach gang child of Charlie Morano and the late Mebet Morano, on her graduation from the College of Charleston in South Carolina.

It is hard to believe but Felix Neck will be celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. There are plenty of activities in the next few months and you can visit massaudubon.org/felixneck to see all the activities.

We used to ride horses from Featherstone Farm to Felix Neck. There were very few houses from County Road to Felix Neck and we would go around the property always mindful of the peacock, who always seemed to meet us at one point and make the horses pause. It is hard to believe that was 50 years ago.

Have a great week and keep the home candles burning.
