The Martha’s Vineyard Land Bank reported revenues of $504,748.81 for the business week ending on Friday, June 25, 2021. The land bank receives its funds from a two per cent fee charged on many Vineyard real estate transactions.

Much of the land bank revenue last week came from the town of Tisbury, where four transactions resulted in $133,600.02. Nine transactions earned $131,094.50 in Edgartown. Eight transactions generated $102,300 in Oak Bluffs. Three transactions earned $87,554.29 in Chilmark. Two transactions resulted in $26,600 in West Tisbury. And two transactions generated $23,600 in Aquinnah.

The land bank uses its revenues to purchase and manage land for purposes of conservation, preservation and passive recreation. To date the agency has participated in the purchase of more than 3,882 acres of Vineyard land.
