Ferry service from New York and New Jersey to Martha’s Vineyard on the Seastreak has been suspended through Sept. 3, the company announced this week.

“We apologize for any inconvenience that this has caused. This service has been suspended because our vessel Commodore is currently out of service,” the announcement said.

Customers with reservations for ferries that have been canceled will be provided with refunds or can change their reservations to a later date.

Service to Martha’s Vineyard on the high-speed ferry was scheduled to run through Columbus Day weekend in October.

A compmany spokesman said Wednesday that they hope to be up and running again in time for travel to and from the Island by Labor Day weekend.
