The windows are open, the air conditioners are off, it is cool at night for some great sleeping, and the days are warm enough to still wear T- shirts, capris and, most importantly, flip flops. I think you can guess this is my favorite time of year.
Happy Birthday to all who celebrated their day this past week. Big balloons go out to Adelaide Metters, who celebrated Sept. 17; Xeandre Miller and Cole Reed on Sept. 18; Jaydon Fuller and Luiz Lacerda on Sept. 19; Christopher Cardoza on Sept. 20; Rodriques Santos on Sept. 23; and to Lucas De Oliveira and Benjamin Donato, who celebrate their day today, September 24.
Congratulations to Weston and Julia Sequeira on the birth of their son. Sebastian Blake Alves Sequeira came into the world three weeks early, arriving on Sept. 15, at 9:20 p.m., weighing 5 pounds and measuring in at 19.5 inches long. Proud grandparents are maternal grandmother Poliana Abreu and paternal grandparents Bob and Cindy Sequeira.
Julia and Weston both work for Donaroma’s. Weston is in irrigation and Julia is with us in the nursery. We watched Julia every day as we all were excited for Sebastian to arrive, and she never missed a day and never once complained.
So, when she left work early on Monday, Sept. 13, we knew she was tired and ready to go home and rest as she had three more weeks. Only Ernie Carlomagno, one of our managers, said as she went by him, “you are going to have that baby Wednesday”. Julia said, “I better not. I still have stuff to do before he arrives”.
As we know, Sebastian arrived on Wednesday and Ernie is still looking for the pool money that was never was. He is very proud of himself. Sebastian was born of the seventh anniversary of the day his parents met. I guess it was meant to be.
Fellow writer Gail Gardner and her husband Don Casey, along with Gail’s daughter Amelia, traveled to Gail’s alma mater, UMass, so that Amelia could catch up with a friend. From what I saw and read, Gail was happy to be back in the area. Even though the hill did get steeper, it was still as beautiful as she remembered.
Jaqueline Da Silva and her fiancé Dave Goldstein celebrated Jackie’s birthday by going to New York city for the weekend. They walked around a lot but were happy to get to see many of the sights of the city. Happy Birthday, Jackie.
Have a great week and keep the home candles burning.
