We are still getting some warm weather and wind and rain over the weekend. It is said we are going to have some nice weather for a while. Unfortunately, that means we won’t have a white Christmas, so no sleds for Christmas again this year.

Happy Birthday to all who celebrated their day this past week. Big balloons go out to Isabella Francis-Espino, who celebrated on Dec. 11, and Benjamin Fuller, who celebrated his day on Dec. 12.

The wind and the rain did not discourage people from wandering around town. They loved our lights and all the ornaments. We saw some old customers and some new ones that had never been to the events before. And, of course, lots of young children. Even though I was not at the parade, I heard it was very kid-orientated but the adults enjoyed it just as well.

I attended the Minnesingers concert on Friday night. These young adults were amazing and I could only shake my head at the talents of this chorus. They performed Christmas carols and some of the pieces were awesome. Several singers performed solos. The chorus is planning a trip to perform in Austria and Germany during April. They are busy raising money for their trip, so please keep an eye open for their raffles.

I hope you have been able to enjoy the happenings in the evening sky. Even if you are not into astrology, it has been nice to see the moon and all the planets aligned and brightly shining. As I write this on Dec. 13, tonight is supposed to feature spectacular meteor showers. The only downfall the peak is at 2:30 a.m. and that is not in my schedule. I hope to catch some when I take the dog out for the last potty run. They may not be as plentiful but there should be some.

As I looked at my calendar, I realized that next Friday is Christmas Eve. Therefore, I wish you all a very Merry Christmas. I hope you all stay safe and are able to spend some time with family.

Have a great week and keep the home candles burning.
