The historic Lambert’s Cove Inn in West Tisbury has been sold for $6.45 million.

Stephanie and Jon Saunders of Cohasset, who own three other hotels on the south shore, completed the purchase last week after receiving approval from the town to serve beer and wine.

The property includes 7.6 acres off Lambert’s Cove road, a 17-room hotel and a 70-seat restaurant. It was previously owned by John and Keya Cain, who acquired it in April 2018 for $5.5 million.

The Cains, who tried unsuccessfully to expand the property, put it on the market last September for $6.9 million, saying at the time that they had invested more than $1 million in renovations and improvements.

Mr. and Ms. Saunders are the owners of the Inn on the Sound in Falmouth, which they bought in 2019, as well as two properties in Hull: the Nantasket Beach Hotel, which they’ve owned since mid-2020, and the Beacon Waterfront Inn, which they bought in 2017.
