Rockland Trust Charitable Foundation has awarded a $50,000 grant to Island Housing Trust. This funding will be used for the construction of Kuehn’s Way, a neighborhood of 20 affordable housing rental apartments in Vineyard Haven.
The Kuehn’s Way neighborhood will sit on a 15-acre parcel off State Road in Vineyard Haven, with Red Coat Hill Road and Deer Hill Road running adjacent to the property. It will serve 60 year-round Island residents experiencing housing insecurity with one, two and three-bedroom apartments. Construction will be completed this summer and the apartments will be available for occupancy in the fall.
Island Housing Trust has also received state grant funding and financing from MassHousing’s Workforce Housing Program and the Department of Housing and Community Development’s Community Scale Housing Initiative and Rural and Small Town programs.
Rockland Trust Charitable Foundation is the philanthropic entity associated with Rockland Trust. It awards grants to nonprofit organizations providing services in the areas of education, financial literacy, health and human services, youth programs, affordable housing and community development.
