Darci Schofield takes over as Islands Director for The Trustees of Reservations, the organization announced this week.

Ms. Schofield will oversee nine properties on the Vineyard and Nantucket: The Brickyard; Menemsha Hills; Long Point Wildlife Refuge; The FARM Institute; Norton Point Beach; Wasque; Mytoi; Cape Pogue Wildlife Refuge; and Coskata-Coatue.

Ms. Schofield has a BA in Environmental Science from Boston University, an MS in Forest Ecosystem Science from the University of Maine, Orono, and is certified in Leadership and Negotiation from Harvard Law School. In the last two decades, her work has focused on conservation, park and open space planning, and finding natural solutions to climate change, the Trustees said in a press release. Most recently, she worked for the National Recreation and Parks Association.

Ms. Schofield lives in Plymouth but will move to the Vineyard upon finding housing, the organization said.
