The Chappaquiddick Community Center will hold its Fund the Future Auction on Tuesday, July 19 at 6 p.m. The event is a kick-off to a campaign raise money for the endowment fund and build a stable financial future for the center.

The event will feature a live auction and the finale of an online silent auction. Items range from a day of fishing on the water, dinner for eight with Steve Raichlen, a weeklong stay on Cape Pogue and more. The event is being chaired by Joanne Brine and Lucy Whittemore-Heywood. Tom Hoffman will be the auctioneer.

Dinner fare will be available from the El Gato food truck as well as beer, wine, soft drinks, a raw bar and a charcuterie table. Tickets are $125 per person and are available on the community center’s website at chappycommunitycenter.org. The online auction can also be accessed there.

The fundraiser will be held at the center, located at 180 Chappaquiddick Road. The Chappaquiddick Community Center is a gathering place for year-round and seasonal residents as well as visitors. It offers social, recreational and educational programs for adults and children. Upcoming events include classical music concerts, ice cream socials, lobster roll dinners and a tennis tournament.
