The Martha’s Vineyard Hospital has announced that it is partnering with the Massachusetts Department of Public Health to make monkeybox vaccines available to eligible community members.

The hospital will host on-Island clinics to administer the JYNNEOS vaccine. It will administered in two doses, with the first dose available on Monday, Sept. 12 from 1 to 5 p.m. and the second on Monday, Oct. 17, also from 1 to 5 p.m. The hospital’s drive-through testing and vaccine tent will be used as the clinic site.

Community members must first confirm they are eligible prior to booking an appointment. To determine eligibility, visit Mass.gov or CDC.gov.

People at the highest risk because of exposure to someone with monkeybox will be prioritized. To date, no cases of monkeypox have been reported on the Island.

Anyone interested in receiving the vaccine through the clinics must sign up in advance online at mvhospital.org/patients_and_visitor/schedule-your-monkeypox-vaccine/.
